Introduction
JobsMiddleEast has been sub contracted to resource for the new Saudi Electric Services Polytechnic (SESP). The polytechnic, based in Baish in Saudi Arabia’s Jizan province, opened in September 2012.
The overall training program is a year of ESL and technical studies; a year of technical training focused on mechanical and electrical engineering; and six months of on-the-job training in the power utility industry and related sectors. The technical studies topics are mathematics, physics, health and safety, and IT.
Corporate Services Director
The Corporate Services Director (CSD) is responsible for the SESP Corporate Services function, and as a member of the senior management team will work to implement the SESP’s business plan. The CSD will coordinate the inputs of the HR, IT and the Finance Managers and will work closely with Saudi counterparts and their staff. The ideal candidate will have a mixture of corporate services, human resources and finance management experience in the private or tertiary education sector; and ideally have experience working in the Middle East. The minimum level of commitment is expected to be for one-year initially, renewable by mutual agreement.
Key responsibilities are:
- Develop, review and act within business planning, corporate policies and project guidelines;
- Accountable to the Academic Director for the achievement of defined operational objectives;
- Work closely with the clients of SESP to develop financial planning, processes and accountabilities, then lead and oversee their implementation;
- Work closely with the Academic Director in the daily project management of SESP;
- Assist the Academic Director to select, approve, induct, performance manage and professionally develop the senior management, local support and trainer/instructor teams;
- Drive the development of the overall student and staff experience;
- Foster and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
- Report in a timely way in the areas of HR and Finance; and
- Oversee institutional policy development and review.
Package
Overall contractor package valued at up to SAR 593,246 includes: annual salary (SAR 460,000 negotiable, subject to experience), accommodation and local transport allowance; furnished accommodation with utilities and internet; a one-off relocation allowance; private medical insurance for candidate (and wife, if relocating); the initial one way economy class flight to Saudi and subsequent return economy class flights for candidate (and wife, if relocating) for each additional year of service. As at 29 January 2013, GBP1 = SAR5.89 and USD1 = SAR3.75.
